Edith
Nagy and Pat Deuling Outfitting have black bear permits in Zone 536 of
northwest Alberta. The permits are in North West Alberta near the town of
Rainbow Lake.
Each bear hunt is typically 6 days
in length (excluding transportation to base camp).
Hunters fly into the Edmonton International Airport (Edmonton, Alberta,
Canada) and take a connecting flightinto the High Level Airport
or to the Rainbow Lake airport.Hunters are greeted at the
airport and transported by truck to the hunting base camp. Each base camp consists of wall tents with wood stoves. There is one
cook tent in camp in which the outfitter prepare and provide all meals.
Hunts from base camp are on quads or trucks.
Hunters are taken to baited tree stands with three to five stands per
hunter. We prefer to have 4 to 5
hunters per week. Hunters may use
rifles, muzzleloaders, or bows.
Availability Dates:
All bear
hunts are spring only. The bear season is from April 1st to June 15th.
We prefer to run our hunts from May 10th to June 15th.
In this zone the hunters are allowed two bears and the option of taking
a wolf, for which there is no limit.
