Edith Nagy and Pat Deuling Outfitting hunt Rocky Mountain Elk permit in zone 418 of the Alberta Rocky Mountains. Our Elk hunting area is l0cated on the Red Deer River immediately surrounding the Ya-Ha-Tinda Ranch.

Each elk hunt is typically 10 days in length (excluding transportation to base camp).  Hunters are greeted at the Calgary International Airport (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) and transportation to our base camp at the Ya-Ha-Tinda Ranch on the Red Deer River is provided.

From the Ya-Ha-Tinda base camp hunters are guided on a two and a half hour horse-back trip to our Elk Camp also located on the Red Deer River.  The Elk Camp consists of wall-tents with wood-stove heating for hunter  lodging and a cook tent in which the outfitters prepare and provide all meals.

From the Elk Camp, hunters will be guided on daily horse-back trips to hunt the high grassy basins and meadows of the Rocky Mountains for trophy bulls.  Six-point antler bulls and bigger are considered “legal” for hunting .  Legal bulls may be hunted during the rutting season running from mid-September through November.  After rutting season, elk season starts September 17 and runs through November 30

Wolf is also available.
