Edith
Nagy and Pat Deuling Outfitting offer a wilderness pack trip in the Rocky
Mountains of Alberta to photograph and observe wildlife.
Trips will originate from the Ya-Ha-Tinda Ranch base camp.
The trips run from 3 to 5 days with a maximum of 3 to 5 people per trip.
Pack trip customers
fly into the Calgary International Airport (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) and
are greeted at the airport and transported by truck by the outfitters to the
Ya-Ha-Tinda Ranch base camp.
Trips are conducted during either the
summer or winter seasons. Summer
trips will be run from the Ya-Ha-Tinda Ranch base camp on horseback to
photograph and observe wildlife on summer ranges.
Base camp consists of wall-tents with
wood stoves for guest lodging and a cook tent in which the outfitters prepare
and provide all meals. We will be setting up spike camps each night until return to base camp
upon
completion of the trip.
The winter trips also run from the
Ya-Ha-Tinda Ranch base camp on horseback to the surrounding hills that are the
winter-feeding grounds of approximately 3,000 elk and 300 to 400 big horn sheep.
There is also the chance to photograph wolves, coyotes and deer.
We then return to the Ya-Ha-Tinda Ranch base camp each night.
